BA (Hons) Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy, 1st class
Tutor/Trainer Person-Centred Counselling
Self-Esteem Group Facilitator
Voluntary counsellor in the community
My training has been in the Person-Centred Approach which aims to help you to explore and find answers within yourself. As we explore your issues together, I will take an active part by attentively listening. This process can result in you beginning to build your own sense of personal power and a level of self acceptance and self regard.
I value your right to privacy and issues raised in therapy will remain confidential. This may be reviewed for legal or safety reasons, but will always be discussed with you before any action is taken.
I aim to be sensitive towards the cultural and ethnic origins of all individuals whatever their religious beliefs or sexual orientation.
I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
In accordance with best practice, counsellors are required to reflect on their practice. Supervision is a space where counsellors can discuss and explore issues that arise when working with clients. I have regular supervision with an experienced supervisor. When I discuss my work, I ensure that my clients’ identities remain anonymous and my supervisor is bound by the same rules of confidentiality as I am.
